Botanical Traditions - Concept Plans
The concept plan is the first main step in the landscape design process. There are no hard and fast rules as to what must be included in a concept plan. Typically we show the main features of the landscape design - for instance the different garden areas and their relationships to neighbouring areas, main features and main trees.
In smaller projects a concept plan may give the client enough information to continue with their garden, especially if they are doing the construction themselves.
The level of detail in a concept plan will vary depending on the project, budget and landscape designer. The plan below is for a simple backgarden. It includes the indicative locations of plants, raised garden beds and steps.
