The Concept Design of this Summer’s Seasonal Flower Display in Sydney is inspired by the theme of Habitat Harmony, celebrating the essential connection between natural and man-made environments. Both types of habitats play a vital role in supporting the life of species — from birds, insects, and pets to humans — within the urban landscape.

For this season, the Planting Design draws from the beauty and diversity of natural habitats such as coastal areas, grasslands, and forests, reimagined for the heart of the city. The displays are thoughtfully installed across the City of Sydney during the warm and humid month of January, using a variety of structures including planters, green walls, towers, and pyramids. Each site is uniquely designed in response to its microclimatic conditions, with carefully curated planting schemes that harmonize with the local environment. The displays feature an abundant selection of vibrant flowering plants, lush foliage plants, and iconic Australian native plants.
