The Concept Design for this Spring’s Seasonal Flower Display in Sydney is inspired by Habitat Harmony - a celebration of the intricate balance between natural and man-made environments. In Australia, the diversity of climates shapes a wide variety of habitats, from flowing waterways, wetlands, and estuaries to the vast stretches of deserts, open plains, dense forests, grasslands, and the unique ecosystems along the coast. The Planting Design seeks to bring these environments into the heart of the city, creating immersive floral displays that invite both people and urban wildlife to explore, connect, and experience the beauty of Australia's habitats in new ways.

The installations will be thoughtfully positioned across the City of Sydney in October, each display crafted using a variety of structures including planters, greenwalls, towers, and pyramids. The planting schemes of Greenwalls will showcase two contrasting environments: the rich, layered biodiversity of the Rainforest and the striking, resilient beauty of the Desert. St Mary’s Cathedral will feature a display highlighting beneficial insects, emphasizing their role in maintaining ecological balance. Customs House will present an inspiring showcase of wildflowers, with a special focus on native plants and other native species of New South Wales, celebrating the state's botanical heritage.

Through this concept, the Seasonal Flower Display aims to create a living tapestry across the city — a reminder of the diverse habitats that shape our environment and the harmonious coexistence of all species, both human and non-human, within it.
